He goes by many names; Santa Claus, Kris Kringle, Father Christmas, Saint Nicholas or St. Nick for short. Jolly old St. Nick is more than just a holiday icon, he was a real man named Nicholas of Myra, known for his secret gift-giving. Somewhere along the line of history, the real Saint Nicholas, who is celebrated in many countries on December 6th, got mixed in with Christmas tradition. The modern depiction of St. Nick was created in the USA. And, there is still some debate as to whether he lives in the North Pole or in Finland. But either way, St. Nick is an image that brings the nostalgia of Christmas to many people all over the world and now he brings a few bookmarks to share the spirit of the season.
