Jay Maynard had been around the Internet and its precursors since the late 1980s, but he never expected to be one of its celebrities. That changed in 2004 when he decided to make a costume like the ones in the movie TRON for a science fiction convention, and document the process for others who might want to follow. The Tron Guy, as he's come to be known, is now a fixture on the net. He's appeared numerous times on TV in the real world as well, most notably on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. In real life, Jay's a computer consultant, working from his home in Fairmont, Minnesota. He enjoys aviation, shooting, and ham radio, as well as computing and the Internet.
